Agatha Christie Rediscovered
Monday September 8, 2003
Agatha Christie (Mary Clarissa Miller) was a famous mystery writer, with more than 70 detective novels to her credit. In addition to mysteries, Christie published romances and children's books; and one of her plays, "The Mousetrap," is reknowned as "the world's longest-running play."
Now, the BBC reports that a forgotten play has been rediscovered. As the report explains: "'The Secret of Chimneys,' a spy thriller Christie wrote in 1925, has lain forgotten in the vaults of the British Library and has only just been uncovered." The report also quotes Christie's grandson, Mathew Prichard, who said, "I think she's underestimated as a playwright and I think this play may well confirm that."
