James Joyce fans from around the world celebrate his legacy on Bloomsday--June 16th. The day is celebrated in at least 60 coutries, though the place to be is Dublin, Ireland. One of the many traditions on this day is to read "Ulysses." You can participate in one of the look-a-like or literary contests; or you can drink Guinness. But, you may wonder what Bloomsday is all about, and what we're really celebrating...It's all about James Joyce's "Ulysses," which is the record of a single day in the life of Leopold Bloom. The day, June 16, 1904, was significant to Joyce because it was the day when he first met Nora Barnacle (who was to become his wife).
