The Controversy Over That Famous Bard -- William Shakespeare

ShakespeareIs William Shakespeare just too popular for his own good? Should we be putting his plays on hold, and taking a look at some of the other great plays in literature? Or, should we just get on with it, enjoying Shakespeare along with all the others?

In an article for The Guardian, Mirand Sawyer says: "We should be brave enough to go a year without Shakespeare: to ban him from our theatres for just 365 days, just to see what else is out there, what other plays are worth digging up, or commissioning, or reinterpreting."
