Are readers born, or are they made--through encouragement, good books, and the other enticements of literature?
When one is passionate about reading, it's hard to imagine a life that doesn't include stacks of books--with bookshelves covering most of the wall space. It's nearly impossible to think that there might be a day when you could wake without seeing a book by your bed, or nearby.
