Who's the Greatest Wizard of Them All...

Monday July 9, 2007
J.R.R. TolkienI can hear Harry Potter now: "Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who's the greatest wizard of them all?

(Well, I can imagine it anyway...)

You can find out who was voted the favorite wizard, according to news from The Guardian. It's probably not the first time that Potter has been compared with Gandalf. We are talking about one of the most popular (and famous) wizards of all time. Can you guess who came in fourth? Merlin, of course. I knew he had to come in there somewhere, but it's curious that he was fourth on the list...

In The Return of the King, Gandalf says, "End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it."

Who would you pick as the greatest wizard in literary history?
