Harry Potter-dom Slipping into Oblivion?

Tuesday July 10, 2007
With the much-anticipated release of the final Harry Potter book just days away, we must now pause for a few moments to reflect... What was life like before the young wizard took center stage in so much of the world's reading news? Will you miss him, when the last book is over and one with, or are you eagerly anticipating the possible demise of Harry Potter? Whether you love or hate the books and their author, the curiosity factor still makes me wonder: What will life be like after Harry Potter? But, more importantly, how can we continue the phenomenon where kids (and adults) are so excited about books? We can't let this opportunity just slip away...

And, from my perspective, how can we redirect all of that passion for books into a passion for the classics?!? Some readers just don't know what they are missing... Here are a few suggestions.
