The Percy Shelley Phenomenon

Saturday August 4, 2007
Percy Bysshe Shelley was born on August 4, 1792. He was the husband of Mary Shelley, who was influential in the shaping of his memory after he was killed in a mysterious boating accident at such a young age (30). Percy Bysshe Shelley was a famous Romantic poet, who is often compared with Lord Byron and John Keats.

Here's The Waning Moon:

And like a dying lady, lean and pale,
Who totters forth, wrapped in a gauzy veil,
Out of her chamber, led by the insane
And feeble wanderings of her fading brain,
The moon arose up in the murky east,
A white and shapeless mass.

Here are a few more works from Percy Bysshe Shelley.
