The Birth of Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird

Friday April 28, 2006

Harper Lee was born on April 28, 1926. She would become famous for her novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, for which she received the Pulitzer Prize. In this famous work of fiction, Harper Lee wrote: "Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat up people's gardens, don't nest in corncribs, they don't do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."
