Sherlock Holmes Discovered: The Hound of the Baskervilles

Review by Kate O'Leary-Cole

From Kate O'Leary-Cole, for About.com

Of course everybody has heard of the great Sherlock Holmes, but as a reader mainly of novels, I had never read a Sherlock mystery... until this summer.

This summer's reading list required "The Hound of the Baskervilles" by Arthur Conon Doyle, a Sherlock mystery. I started rather drudgingly, not expecting to be fully captivated by the book within moments of starting. Sherlock is the kind of person we can all admire--he takes what is there and solves the mystery, without missing a clue. This book is one of my new favorites and I've already started on "The Complete Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes"!
