As I Lay Dying
is one of the best-known novel by William Faulkner, American write. Although The Sound and the Fury
is more controversial, this novel--with 15 narrators--is an important American classic. Published on October 6, 1930, Faulkner's work is set in a rural area in Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi (a fictional locality, in the South, which he continued to revisit through various novels and stories).
