The most famous Dr. Seuss story (for Christmas) is, of course, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The Grinch is the worst possible creature we can imagine (the Scrooge), and he goes to great lengths to ruin Christmas for all the inhabitants of Whosville. He learns something that we all should learn (and re-learn). Christmas is more than just opening presents and feasting on delicious/filling treats. His realization of the "real" meaning of Christmas melts The Grinch's heart, and transforms him into a very different person (in much the same way as Scrooge changed).
