(1873-1954) French writer. Sidonie-Gabrielle. Born in the village of Saint-Saveur-en Puisaye, Burgundy, Colette was one of the most important novelists of the 20th century. Colette is known for: "The Pure and the Impure" (1932), "The Vagabond" (1910), "Cheri" (1920), "My Mother's House" (1922), and "Sido" (1929).
