Enlightenment

The Age of Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was an influential period, which took place during the 18th century, and was named by the writers of the movement. The Enlightenment developed in France with Voltaire and Rousseau, but it also had writers like Locke and Hume in Great Britain, with writers like Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, and Paine in America.
