Joseph Conrad (Józef Teodor Conrad Korzeniowski)

Joseph Conrad was a Polish-born British novelist. With works like Victory, Lord Jim, The Secret Agent, An Outcast of the Islands, The Shadow Line, The Duel, Heart of Darkness, and Nostromo, he heralded the coming of modernism. He captured man's inner struggle and illusory perceptions--drawing from his own disillusionment, isolation and exile.
