That Hideous Strength

About.com Rating four out of Five

From Patty Inglish, for About.com

Further, 3rd Rock from the Sun’s intergalactic leader is the Big Giant Head and the Head of N.I.C.E. really is a head. In Lewis' own time, George Orwell called "Strength" a crime story with magic added. If so, it could also be called "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." with its THRUSH: Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity, an espionage story with angels added. Altogether, this book recalls delicious modern cult classics and is a thoroughly enjoyable classic read.
